SA Ready is a free platform that gives teachers access to high quality lesson plans and teaching resources. Developed in partnership between Generation TX San Antonio and Educational Policy Improvement Center (EPIC), SA Ready is aligned with Texas College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) and helps prepare teachers to implement college-and career-ready lessons.
In 2011, GenTX SA organized a task force of curricula specialists and educators and challenged them to develop an instructional thread (kindergarten through high school) that helps students prepare for college and careers. GenTX SA identified an opportunity to provide resources for teachers during the transition to the CCRS and STAAR exam and felt the importance of providing teachers with these meaningful tools.
Throughout the 2011-2012 school year, five local school districts piloted this innovative lesson writing and professional development project and an additional six districts have joined the program for the 2012-2013 school year. In 2014, after all lessons have been written, tested, and refined, GenTX SA will have sponsored the development of more than 700 lesson plans for teachers’ use.
These lessons, along with accompanying toolkits and videos, are available for use free of charge to all teachers throughout Bexar County and across Texas on SA-Ready.org, ensuring high quality resources are available for teachers and students.
GenTX is creating a new generation of teachers who will change classrooms. Join our movement.
SA Ready: College, Career and Life is an in-school curriculum developed in partnership between Generation TX San Antonio and Educational Policy Improvement Center (EPIC) Research that is aligned with Texas' College and Career Readiness Standards (TCCRS) and was developed, in part, with support from a P-16 Initiatives Grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
In a smaller district, it is important to have free quality resources that can compliment our existing curriculum and classroom practices. SA Ready lessons highlight the College and Career Readiness Standards and ensure our students are mastering concepts that will make them better prepared for post secondary education and careers.
